Market Day

Would it be nice to grocery shop from home or have an easy dinner option for those hectic nights? Market Day is offered at our school each month and allows you to order over 150 food products including low fat, low calorie, and all natural options.  Order online at
www.marketday.com (account #19084) or return the order forms to your child's teacher by the deadline on the back.  The "sweet" part is that we raise funds for important educational resources for Moncure with your support!

We are in need of a good Market Day team to help make the program a success this year.  Please contact Market Day Chair, Shelly Arcularius, at
chefshelly66@aol.com if you are interested in giving a few hours a month to this fantastic program.

Spirit Nights

We are excited to have some new Spirit Night partners this year.  Bruster’s Ice Cream, Chick-fil-A, and Wacky Bear are joining our old favorites, Cici’s Pizza and McDonald’s. Spirit nights are a great way to show our school spirit, see friends and faculty, and earn money for Moncure, as a percentage of the sales proceeds are donated by our generous sponsors.

Adopt-A-Classroom (AAC)
Adopt-A-Classroom is back this year after a very successful first year of raising over $10,000 for Moncure. This was the second highest amount raised in all of Stafford County!  The AAC program allows individuals and businesses to sponsor classrooms, and teachers are able to make purchases based on the needs of their specific classroom. Just some examples of items purchased last year are a rain gauge, rock and mineral collection kit, book series, and even an ELMO (digital overhead projector) machine!

You may return your AAC donations in the envelopes provided at Open House or donate online by visiting
www.adoptaclassroom.org (minimum $25 donation online). Click the “Donors” button; the “Select A Classroom” button; type in “Moncure” and “Virginia” and our school will come up.  Click on our school name and a list of teachers will appear on the right side of the page.  Once you make a donation you will receive personal emails stating what the teacher purchased.

The program is also a great way for local businesses to become connected to the school and our students.  If you own or know of a business that might be interested in adopting one of our classrooms, please contact Jennifer Knee, AAC Chairperson, at
kraftknee@verizon.net.  All donations are tax deductible!  Thank you for your support.

Drink Pouch Brigade—Save those empty foil drink pouches!
We will be participating in a program called “Drink Pouch Brigade” which will give our school 2 cents for every empty drink pouch (such as Capri Sun pouches) collected.  Please drop off, or have your child drop them in the box located in the school cafeteria.  The pouches will be collected each Friday and sent in.
